The local intellectuals carried out an exchange on the history and the economic, political and sociocultural evolution of the town of Rodas. The "Popular and Traditional Culture" workshop was a space to socialize the current knowledge in this field.  The event was an ideal proposal to talk about the main facts related to the history of "El Lechuzo" (this is the town´s nickname)

Humberto Estanislao Rodríguez Gainza and indispensable member of the Cuban traditional music septet Los Naranjos, has just turn a hundred years old. In this occasion, this culture personality was honored by his colleagues and the Music Provincial Center. Although he can´t see or hear he was able to say that Los Naranjos was a school for him, where he learned about solidarity, self-sacrifice and faith in the greatness of the Cuban music. "There were nice and sublime moments".  

A master lecture by Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler and the presentation of the campaign to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the village of Fernandina de Jagua are included among the proposals of the 6th Workshop on Cuban Heritage Cities to be hosted by Cienfuegos city from November 30th to December 4th.
