Cuba will be represented at the Goya cinema festival by the film "Conducta"

The Cuban film "Conducta", along with "Relatos salvajes" from Argentina; "Kaplan" from Uruguay and "La distancia más larga", from Venezuela will be the candidates to the award to the best Latin American films at the 29th edition of the Goya award. This Cuban film directed by Ernesto Daranas narrates the complicated life of Chala, an eleven-year old boy who lives alone with his mother and who is sent to a correctional school.

En Tres Tiempos exhibition opened at Cienfuegos´ Jagua Hotel

Romel,José Ernesto and Alain are part of the Cienfuegos´ avant-garde and have exhibited the works Piza, Torre Eiffel, Mi Mar, Al sur and others which were included in the plastic exhibition called En Tres Tiempos. This exhibition is a dream of the local artists to converge in the same space, each of them with their own tendencies but united in the use of warm colors and different relief techniques which approximates the pictoric object to the contour appreciation.

Latin American intellectuals in Cienfuegos city to participate as the jury of the Casa de las Américas Award

From January 19th to 25th, in its 24th edition the jury of the Casa de las Américas award will session at the Jagua Hotel and will visit interesting places in Cienfuegos, according to the information released by the communication specialists from this institution.  The local stay includes a visit to the old quarter, - declared world heritage in 2005 - on Tuesday 20th during the afternoon. Two days after that the guests will have exchanges with students and professors at the local universities, the Benny Moré art school, the School of Hotel Industry and Tourism as well as with doctors at the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima hospital.
