Theoretical-researching event "El Apuntador" to be hosted by the Tomás Terry theater

From February 5th to 7th the theoretical-researching event "El Apuntador" will be hosted by the Tomás Terry theater. This year the event will be devoted to the theater´s 125th anniversary and to Arquímedes Pous. During the event there will be a tribute to the Cuban vernacular theater. "El Apuntador" will start with a transitory exhibition at the "Yolanda Perdiguer" history hall, showing belongings, objects, items and pictures related to the life and work of Arquímedes Pous, an important personality of the Cuban performing arts. The exhibited items belong to the Tomás Terry Documentation Center.

The deliberations about the Casa de las Americas´ award at a good pace in Cienfuegos city

From Tuesday to Saturday the members of the jury of the Casa de las Americas´s award have been deliberating at their usual headquarters at the Jagua hotel, which has been hosting this major event since 14 years ago. Up to now the reading are at a good pace by the evaluating committee, according to a source from Casa de las Americas.

16th Hall La Picúa: honoring the "Chispa" from Cienfuegos´ humor

This morning January 20th was a sad day in Cienfuegos city. The local cartoonists came to the Tomás Acea cemetery to pay a tribute to Nelson Douglas Pérez Portal (Chispa) a cartoonist as them, and also a designer who was one of 5 de Septiembre´s founding members. He was also one of the most significant competitors at Salón La Picúa, the local cartoon contest, which opened this year its 16th edition with a tribute to him.
