The nominees to the Caricato Award 2014 have been presented

The nominees to the 36th edition of the Caricato Award, which will recognize the cinema, radio and Cuban television in 2014 have been presented for the final ceremony to be carried out on February 10th at the Mella theater in Havana.  This award that was crated in 1972 by the Section of Performing Artists at UNEAC. It is the most important award of its kind in Cuba and recognized the work and career by the most important Cuban actors and actresses.  

In the section of female performance has been included Isabel Santos by the film "Vestido de Novia", as well as Laura de la Uz, by performing the main character in the same film, while Alina Rodríguez was nominated by her performance in the film Conducta. Jorge Perugorría was nominated in the category of male performance by his role in "La pared de las palabras", Carlos Díaz by Decamerón and Joel Angelino by Sexto Sentido. 

Yenisel Castellanos (Santiago de Cuba) was nominated by "Para toda la vida", as well as Freddys Nuñez (Camagüey) by La panza del caiman, and Mario Junquera and Sisi Delgado by "El millonario y la maleta".  The Edwin Fernández TV performance award for children and young persons, as well as the Hermanos Camejo award (production), the Sergio Corrieri award (male and female performance) and the Eloísa Álvarez Guedes National Award (humor male and female performance) will remain. 

Others like the Antonia Valdés and the Enrique Santiesteban radio competence will remain as well.  In the Francisco Covarrubias radio event also competes in the field of production, as well as in main and secondary female and male characters.  Caricato remembers and evokes the Opera´s "bufo" actors which specialized in imitating well known characters. There was also a recognition to Francisco Covarrubias as the "Uttermost Caricato" and as a source of inspiration for Cuban theater.
