The Provincial Center of Cultural Heritage and Cienfuegos´ Provincial Museum along with the humorist magazine La Picúa from the local newspaper 5 de Septiembre calls to the 16th Hall of Caricatures and Graphic Humor La Picúa. In this edition the themes will be free in all its areas. It will be devoted to the famous humorist Douglas Nelson Pérez (Chispa) who died recently.  

 According to the contest´s rules all creators can participate, as well as students from art schools, amateurs and humorists in general as long as they reflect the sociocultural, historical, economical and political life of the province. The works will compete in four genres: general humor, personal caricature, comics and political satire. There will be no shared awards so there will be only one per category and all of them will be accompanied by 500 Cuban pesos. They jury will present as many mentions as considered.

The format of the works can not exceed the dimensions of 30x30 cm. Although if the author does the installation the event will accept works with a bigger format.  An admission commission will receive the works until January 16th at the Information Department belonging to the Provincial Museum at 54 Avenue No. 2702 between 27 and 29, Cienfuegos city. This commission will be in charge of selecting the works that will be presented at the exhibition spaces.

They jury will be composed by artists, humorists and specialists in this theme who will be in charge of presenting the awards. Their decision will be indisputable.  The opening and the prize giving will be carried out on January 21st 2015 at the Provincial Museum´s Transitory Exhibition Hall. The awarded works will be included in the museum´s caricature collection.
