The international jury of the ALBA awards on the works of a life

The International Jury in charge of presenting the Art and Letters ALBA Awards 2014 will session at the ALBA´s Cultural House in Havana on next Wednesday December 3rd. They jury is composed by several regional personalities: Roberto Fernández Retamar, Cuban poet and essayist, Letters ALBA Award in 2008, Alí Rodríguez Araque, Venezuelan politician, lawyer and diplomatist and Emiliano Mazza de Luca, Uruguayan producer.

This award is presented to those creators that have devoted their lives and work to enrich the cultural heritage of Latin America and the Caribbean with original contributions on any literary genre or artistic expression and who have contributed in a remarkable way to enrich the shared values that are part of our peoples, as well as promoting the cultural freedom and decolonization.

The presentation of this award is a noble tradition established by the ALBA since 2007 with the awards presented to Mario Benedetti (Uruguay), Oscar Niemeyer (Brazil), Roberto Fernández Retamar (Cuba), Jorge Sanjinés (Bolivia), Frei Betto (Brazil), León Ferrari (Argentina), Luis Britto Garcia (Venezuela), Silvio Rodríguez (Cuba), Santiago García (Colombia), Alicia Alonso (Cuba) and Eduardo Galeano (Uruguay).

The jury´s decision will be issued during the afternoon on December 3rd.
