Group exhibition embraces art

Creators from the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS) and the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Cienfuegos converge in Micro-realities, a collective exhibition that shows, above all, diversity of techniques and the constant use of expressive codes that identifies Cuban identity as a dialectic, emancipating and meaningful process.

Photography, sculpture, drawing, painting and engraving are the ways in which the twenty artists, from different generations, reconstruct social or personal situations, marked by a period of unprecedented confinement and a context that drives them not to stop the work beyond the closure of many exhibition spaces.

"The exhibition was conceived as a tribute to the 35th anniversary of the AHS. Creators who had history in this guild and other young people who now represent the vanguard in the association are  participating (...) Micro-realities does not deal with a specific theme, we wanted to leave it to the freedom of each one to exhibit the piece they understand best; however, there are points of coincidence in the visual discourse, above all, with the commitment of the creator with his context", said Alberto Veloz Fonseca, president of the visual arts section, to the press.

The collective exhibition will be on display for a month at the AHS headquarters, popularly known as El Bartolo, and will be an explicit invitation to travel through a plural and valuable artistic route, well assembled and without potholes that may disappoint the expectant eye.

A broad cultural program was prepared by the Association in this southern Cuban province to celebrate another year in defense of Cuban culture; the collective exhibition is an expression of a positive return for a certain growth.
