Yearly sponsored by the Tomás Terry Theater, the Dance Season will be opened this Friday with a performance by Cuba´s Contemporary Dance Company which celebrate the 55th anniversary of its creation. There will be a schedule conceiving shows by other six companies every week end until November 23rd.

 The proposal is composed by a Concert Program with three different pieces like Sombrisa, by Itzik Galili, music by Steve Reich; C.C. Canillitas, a choreography by Jorge Abril inspiraed upon El Chicuelo, by Chaplin; and El Cristal, a composition by Julio César Iglesias, the latest world premiere by this performing company.

El Paraíso Perdido, one of their latest premieres will be presented from November 10th to 12th by Danza Espiral, which will also offert a Concert Program.

In addition to the celebrations by the 55th anniversary of Danza Contemporánea, the 12th Season celebrates the three dacades of the Cienfuegos´ Folklore Company (which will offer from October 17th to 19th a production entitled Chants and Dances from Cuba) and the flamenco company Ecos (which will present the piece De la misma rama, on days from 24th to 26th).

The Identidad company will be in charge of closing the month through a Concert Program entitled Simbiosis. It will begin on October 31st and close on November 2nd. On November 8th and 9th Wilfredo Figueredo´s Company will perform at the Tomás Terry Theater presenting the work Vivir la vida.

The program of the 12th Dance Season will end with a new presentation in Cienfuegos by the contemporary dance company Endedans, from November 21st to 23rd with the piece entitled Vivir, vivir.

Miguel Cañellas Sueiras, the theater´s director, declared that since 2003 Cuba´s most prestigeous dance companies are called to participate in this season, to which some other important companies like the Cuban National Ballet, the Lizt Alfonso Ballet and Cuba´s National Folkore Company.
