In the occasion of being celebrated from April 26th to 30th the day of the Cumanayagua culture, the Literature Department of the Culture House “Habarimao”, has called for the regional poetry contest “Zenón Rodriguez”.

All the interested people can participate, if older than 16 years and that reside in the provinces of Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Santi Spiritus; the members of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) will not be able to compete nor the awarded ones in previous editions.

The subject will be free and those interested must send a set of five unpublished poems that in their totality do not exceed ten pages, legally written, with an original and two copies. The authors will use pseudonyms and in another brief will send their personal data: full name, ID, address, center of work or study, phone number or e-mail.

three prizes will be granted and whichever mentions the jury considers, consisting of diplomas, books and the publication in the Digital Cultural Magazine “Calle B”. The deadline is April 24th 2014. The works can be sent to: Concurso de Poesía “Zenón Rodriguez”, Casa de la Cultura “Habarimao”, Calle Maceo No. 3, Cumanayagua, Cienfuegos, código postal: 57600 or personally presented.

A prestigious jury composed by well known writers will be in charge of presenting the final results. The awarding event will be carried out on April 26th at 11:00am. The fulfillment of these bases will be an indispensable requirement.
