Che Photographer to be exhibited in Cienfuegos

Che Photographer to be exhibited in Cienfuegos

Some 270 images will be displayed in the gallery on the Boulevard and in the exhibition space of Santa Isabel in  Cienfuegos, on the 26th, as part of the travelling exhibition Che Fotógrafo.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, the National Council of Visual Arts and the Che Guevara Center, the exhibition brings together images taken by the guerrilla fighter from his childhood in Argentina to the struggle in Cuba and later in Bolivia.

The snapshots are original and are a testimony of his revolutionary and social career, which began the tour of the city of Villa Clara.

More than 200 snapshots reveal his first motorcycle trips across the continent in Guatemala, Venezuela, Peru or Argentina, as well as his attendance to the Pan-American Games in Mexico in 1955, where he worked as a professional photographer and journalist.

Also noteworthy are the images taken during his travels as Cuban Minister of Industry or representative of the revolutionary government in nations such as India, Ceylon (formerly Sri Lanka) and Japan.

Rafael Cáceres Valladares, president of the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts, informed that the collection of the traveling exhibition Che photographer was organized by specialists from the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana.

Almost at the same time, the closing of the exhibition of the  visual artist Nelson Domínguez will take place in the city of the center-south of the country, on the Boulevard, accompanied by a fashion show designed by the artist himself.
