A work devoted to the charms of the Bay of Jagua has been included in the sample to be exhibited by the Cuban painter Luis Enrique Camejo, who has presented his work for the first time in the southern city of Cienfuegos. Since August 28th to September 30th it will be opened at the Art Center, placed in the ancient area of this city, that was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

The piece was inspired by the local hardor and it is an evidence of the work by this excellent painter who approaches urban spaces in nine paintings included in the series Reflejos, Estaciones y Malecón. “Let´s feel joy for having Camejo in Cienfuegos”, said Rubén del Valle, President of the National Council of Plastic Arts.

“My work is the reflection of different cities through a game that is very close to photography. It is not an exact evidence of daily life, but an evidence of the city as a symbol of the jungle where men live”, said this painter who was born in Pinar del Río. He said that during his stay in Cienfuegos he shared some time with the 1996 graduation of the National Art School (ENA), this was an exchange that was planned to be carried out five years before. 

He was presented in 2003 the Great Award during the 5th Painting Contest Nicomedes García Gómez, in Spain. Luis Enrique Camejo has exhibited his works in galleries in Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, France, China, Canada, the United States and Cuba. His works will be exhibited at next Biennial of Havana.
