Statues that come to life in Cienfuegos

You stare at them but they remain motionless. Some other person eyes their chests to look for a movement revealing their breath. But both snoopers get tired after a few minutes. They know this statue is not real because it was not there yesterday.  But during the afternoon the statues appear. They can be a young woman selling medicinal plants, a photographer, a French lady or even Don Luis de Clouet - the founder of the village of Fernandina de Jagua. All of them are motionless like frozen by time.

Jose: a fighter

 It is not necessary to write a lot in order to better know him. There are many things that show his marks on those who consider to be his friends and for whom he was a friend, a teacher and a mentor. There are so many works that will speak about his work in the culture of this city as a meticulous researcher, lecturer, writer, poet, priest, professor, biographer, essayist, bibliographer, humanist, librarian. He lived a restless and productive life that turned to be insufficient to carry out so many dreams in just 61 years.
